What are Minecraft Texture Packs
Minecraft Texture Packs are downloadable content that can be used to completely change how Minecraft Bedrock looks and feels. Changing the style of the world you are playing in, to hit a particular theme. They are available from either the Official Minecraft Bedrock Marketplace, or 3rd party sites. I focus exclusively on Minecraft Marketplace Texture Packs for Minecraft Bedrock.
What are different types of Minecraft Texture Packs
Minecraft Texture Packs can hit a number of different themes. These themes are often refered to by me, when comparing Texture Packs and reviewing how a Texture Pack changes the world. Themes such as Realism, Cartoon, Futuristic, Minimalist, Retro, Sci-fi, Fantasy, Medieval, Horror, PVP, Cute and even Vanilla all exist to adapt or enhance your Minecraft Forever World.
How do I score Minecraft Texture Packs
When im reviewing a Minecraft Texture Pack, at the end of the video, I award the pack a score. To get this score, im looking at a few details. While I do not have a strict, documented checklist, im looking at things like Price and Description accuracy, the Quality of Textures and models (blur, colour, uniqueness), I look at the feel of the world created by the pack, Variation in blocks and mobs, Duplication in blocks and mobs, I look at if the pack is broken in any places, Connectivity and how the pack represents the Theme its going for.
What makes a good Minecraft Texture Pack
A good Minecraft Texture Pack is like art, its subjective. What I think is good, others will disagree. But for me, what makes a good Texture Pack comes down to whether or not it delivers on the theme its going for, a unique concept or creation within the pack (a unique mob model or design), how often a texture or model is duplicated (Stone, Andesite, Granite, Diorite are often the same design, just different colours) and how well made the textures and models are (if theres a lot of blur or stretch, its not looking good).
Vibrant Visuals Texture Packs!
Due to Vibrant Visual Texture Packs (or Vibrant Visual Graphics) being so different and so much more indepth than Standard Texture Packs in Minecraft Bedrock, it is unfair, in my opinion, to grade them the same. A 10 in Vibrant Visuals is not the same as a 10 in Standard Texture Packs. So I have split the tables. Use the JUMP SECTION above to get to the table you need quickly! Any pack that has updated from Standard to Vibrant Visuals will ONLY be scored on the Vibrant Visuals elements, in the Vibrant Visuals Table and will remain in the standard pack table.
If a pack has "(Compatible)" next to its name, that means the pack is ONLY USEABLE WITH Vibrant Visuals, but the blocks (mostly) dont react to the light. If a pack has "(Functional)" next to its name, that means the pack has at least SOME block effects happening with Vibrant Visuals - Glow, reflection, shine. If a pack has neither, then it was made specifically for Vibrant Visuals and is the complete experience
