Texture Pack Summary

The Color Craft resource pack by Mine-North is a new and incredibly vibrant addition to the Minecraft Marketplace that aims to make your world shine with bright colours. Costing a more expensive 990 Minecoins and taking up 4 megabytes of space, this pack is all about delivering a fresh and dynamic feel to your Minecraft Bedrock adventures. I was very curious to see if the high price was justified, especially since it does not use any of the latest vibrant visuals technology like PBR or heightmaps.

When you first jump into the world, the sheer level of vibrancy is quite overwhelming, with bright greens and maroon-y reds everywhere. The sky even has a cartoony Disney feel to it that makes the environment stand out from the standard game. While the colours are great, the actual UI felt a bit boring to me, with mostly beiges and browns on the buttons and very little customisation beyond some small changes to the inventory tabs.

As I explored more, I started to feel that the pack was a bit outdated, almost like it belonged in 2022 rather than today. Some mob designs like the chicken and pigs felt a bit blotchy and rough around the edges, and the baby animals had not been updated to match the new styles at all. While I really appreciated that the stone blocks like diorite and granite were not just copy and paste designs, the overall art style felt a little bit inconsistent. Because of the high price and the outdated feel, I am giving this a 5 out of 10.

Pros

  • Massively vibrant colours: The pack delivers on its promise of bright and in your face colours that make the world look very cheerful.
  • Unique cartoony sky: The Disney style sky behind the clouds is a very nice touch that adds a unique feel to the environment.
  • Varied block designs: It is great to see that blocks like andesite, diorite, and granite have completely different textures rather than being reused.
  • Consistent colour motif: Even though the UI is simple, the colours stay very consistent across all the different menus and workbenches.
  • Great for lush biomes: The intense vibrancy works particularly well in areas like lush caves, where the greens and yellows look fantastic.

Cons

  • Very high price point: At 990 Minecoins, this pack feels quite expensive for a texture overhaul that lacks modern features on the Minecraft Marketplace.
  • Boring and plain UI: The interface is very basic and does not feel "custom" enough to justify the description's claims.
  • Outdated mob textures: Many of the animals like the baby pigs and cows are just the default vanilla versions and have not been updated.
  • Blotchy art style: Some of the textures, especially the dirt and the chicken, look a bit messy and blotchy when you look at them closely.
  • No modern visual technology: The pack does not include any high tech features like such as Vibrant Visuals, meaning no PBR or reflections, which makes it feel a bit old school.
