Texture Pack Summary
The 3D Weapons Texture Pack by HeroPixel Games is a fresh arrival on the Minecraft Marketplace that focuses on giving your combat gear a high quality makeover. This pack costs 660 Minecoins and takes up about 42 megabytes of space, which is quite a lot for a pack that mainly targets your inventory. I was excited to jump into this review because new texture packs feel a bit rare lately, and I wanted to see if the custom 3D models would actually make the Minecraft Bedrock experience feel more like a legendary adventure.
The first thing I noticed was the custom UI which features a very epic main menu and loading screen. Inside the game, the menus use a mix of browns and beiges, and some workbenches even have cool white pillars with red bricks and vines that hint at an Olympus style theme. The weapons themselves are the real stars here; holding a sword or an axe feels much more impactful because they are no longer flat 2D items. I particularly loved the Netherite gear which has a dark and powerful look, though some of the icons in the inventory are a bit hard to tell apart because the art style is so different from the standard game.
While the weapon models are brilliant, the pack does also change the actual blocks in the world, and these blocks arent as fancy as the weapons and armour. This can feel a bit clashing at times, especially when the blocks look so simple compared to your 3D sword. I also found the bow and crossbow a bit tricky to use because the custom models take up a lot of the screen when you are trying to aim. Despite those small issues, it is a very polished piece of work that sits comfortably alongside some of my other favourite 8 out of 10 ratings on the Minecraft Marketplace.
Pros
- Epic 3D weapon models: The swords and axes look incredible in your hand and give the game a much more modern and detailed feel.
- Custom themed UI: The inclusion of white pillars and vines in the workbench menus adds a nice touch of storytelling to the crafting process.
- Unique Netherite designs: The endgame gear looks truly legendary and stands out as some of the best work in the pack.
- High quality main menu: The main screen is very well designed and immediately sets a professional tone before you even start playing.
- Great value for money: At 660 Minecoins, you get a significant visual upgrade for your tools that feels more premium than many cheaper packs.
Cons
- Clashing world textures: The blocks dont carry the same grand design or "epicness" as the weapons and armours.
- Obstructive ranged weapons: The 3D models for the bow and crossbow are quite large and can block your view while you are aiming at targets.
- Confusing inventory icons: Some of the item icons look very different from the standard game which makes it a little difficult to quickly find what you need.
- Busy loading screens: While the art is great, the loading screens feel a little bit cluttered and busy compared to the cleaner style of the menus.
- Limited scope: If you are looking for purely weapon enhancements, this pack may disappoint with the changes to the world and blocks.
