Texture Pack Summary
Backrooms (formerly Backrooms Realism) 1.0 by A30x1 (formerly "Diluvian") is a horror themed Minecraft Bedrock texture pack that mixes Backrooms style creatures with a dark and unsettling world. The pack costs 1170 mine tokens (but seems to be cheaper now) and focuses heavily on creepy mob designs, strange atmosphere and bold ideas rather than true realism. The overworld feels gloomy with soft fog, dark lighting and strong colour contrast. While blocks like dirt, stone and water look fairly normal, the world still feels uncomfortable and eerie. Bright flowers and water stand out against the dull landscape, which helps create a strange and unsettling mood.
The real strength of the pack is its mobs and dimensions. Passive mobs are disturbing and creative, including twisted Chickens, skinless Pigs, damaged Cows and a three headed Wither Sheep. Villagers wear hazmat suits and Cats are turned into strange walking creatures, which adds to the Backrooms theme but reduces variety. Hostile mobs vary in quality, with an excellent vertical Spider and a beautiful dragon style Creeper, but weaker Zombie and Skeleton designs. The Nether is one of the highlights, featuring fleshy Ghasts, reactive Magma Cubes and a terrifying reaper style Wither that feels completely unique. The End includes a three headed Ender Dragon with strong colours but rough animations, while the Ancient City stands out with glowing red sculk and a memorable Warden design. Overall the pack is very creative and scary, but the realism side of the name feels unclear and some parts need polish.
Pros
- Extremely creative horror mobs: Chickens, Pigs, Sheep and Creepers have bold and unforgettable designs.
- Strong Backrooms atmosphere: Fog, lighting and colour contrast create constant unease.
- Excellent Nether content: Ghasts, Magma Cubes and the Wither feel unique and threatening.
- Memorable Ancient City: Red sculk and pulsing effects make the area stand out visually.
- Clear update plans: The creator has promised ongoing updates and future versions.
Cons
- Realism theme is unclear: Many designs feel fantasy horror rather than realistic.
- Inconsistent mob quality: Some mobs look incredible while others feel basic or unfinished.
- Villager variety is missing: All Villagers wear the same hazmat suit regardless of job.
- Weapon designs lack variation: Most weapons look copy pasted with colour changes only.
- High price for version 1.0: The pack feels expensive for something still needing polish.
