Texture Pack Summary

I reviewed the Pumpkin Halloween Texture Pack by Giggle Block Studios for Minecraft Bedrock, which costs 830 minecoins and aims to bring a spooky Halloween theme to your world. The GUI uses bright orange tones across menus and inventories, giving a minimal but festive feel. While the colours are strong and fit the Halloween theme, the pack immediately feels outdated, having last been updated in September 2024. Many mobs such as cows, pigs, chickens, and villagers remain completely vanilla, breaking immersion and highlighting the lack of updates.

The world uses reds, oranges, and browns to create an eerie atmosphere, but the heavy pixelation and blurry textures make it difficult on the eyes. Passive mobs like sheep and horses feature odd facial designs, and iron golems wear carved pumpkins but are ruined by awkward noses. Hostile mobs such as zombies, skeletons, and creepers feature basic pumpkin heads with little creativity. The Nether and End are slightly better, offering eerie fogs, bright lava, and a passable Ender Dragon design with tattered orange wings. The trial chamber and ocean monument sections show the most effort, with clear block designs and pumpkin-themed details, but these moments are rare. Overall, the pack feels unpolished, repetitive, and overpriced for its age and quality.

Pros

  • Strong colour theme - Reds, oranges, and browns give the world a classic Halloween tone.
  • Themed GUI design - Orange menus and buttons create a festive atmosphere.
  • Improved monuments - Ocean monuments and trial chambers show better texture detail.
  • Eerie Nether ambience - Red fog and glowing lava create a spooky underground feel.
  • Simple but fitting Ender Dragon - Orange and black tones make the dragon match the Halloween setting.

Cons

  • Outdated content - Lacks updates for modern mobs and blocks, reverting to vanilla designs.
  • Heavy pixelation - Blurry, grainy textures make the pack hard to look at for long periods.
  • Repetitive pumpkin theme - Overuse of carved pumpkin faces with little variation.
  • Low-effort mob designs - Many mobs only have pumpkin heads or slight recolours.
  • Overpriced - 830 minecoins feels high for a two-year-old pack with minimal updates.
